NOVELLA

Piemonte Rosso Doc

The Barbera that makes up the Novella comes from the “East Vineyard,” a plot characterized by southeastern exposure and consistently low yields. Despite its low productivity, this vineyard gives very fruity and balanced wines. Barbera is vinified whole cluster, with semi-carbonic maceration, a technique that enhances the fruity and fresh components, giving the wine lightness and pleasant spicy notes.

Merlot, on the other hand, comes from the oldest vineyard on our estate, dating back to the 1980s, to which we are particularly attached. This is vinified in the traditional way and added to Barbera at the end of fermentation.

Once blended, the two varietals age for several months in third-passage tonneaux. The wine is bottled with a sulfite content of 40 mg/l.
