ASTRA
Classic Method Sparkling Wine
Astra is the result of experimentation aimed at exploring the expressive potential of Nebbiolo in a sparkling wine version. An unconventional vision of this great grape variety, reinterpreted with flair and elegance.
The grapes, are harvested in late August and gently pressed whole. Fermentation takes place in second-passage French oak barrels, where the wine is aged for about 8 months, gaining complexity and structure without sacrificing freshness.
In the spring, drafting is done. This is followed by a stay on the lees for at least 30 months.
At disgorgement, only reserve wine is added, aged in barrels according to the “solera” method. A choice that reflects the desire to preserve the identity of the vintage and ensure stylistic continuity, without the addition of sugar or extraneous elements.
Astra is a sparkling wine of great character, finesse and personality, capable of telling the story of Nebbiolo in an unexpected but surprisingly authentic way.
