Thanks to the easing of measures to combat the pandemic and the resumption of catering, the wine market seems to be regaining share.
WineNews tells, through the export data of the first quarter 2021, of a recovery compared to the same period of 2020 and of numbers in line with 2019, and this is also confirmed by the data on bottling and status bands that we have collected among the Consortia of some of the most important denominations in Italy.
Some Italian territories declare the best numbers ever: the total bottled of the 13 denominations protected by the Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato, chaired by Filippo Mobrici, recorded an increase of 5% in the first 5 months 2021 (over the same period of 2020). The highest number in the last four years, underlines the Consortium led by Mobrici, which recorded increases of 1.4% for Barbera d’Asti, the pillar of the territory, and even + 32.5% for Nizza, the top quality of the Barbera system.
