Wine in art: Joan Mirò

Uvamatris presents the eccentric painting by the Spanish Joan Mirò: “The bottle of wine” (1924).

In the historic atmosphere of Surrealist abstraction, the painter decides to put some reality (wine bottle) in a surreal environment and combines incongruous elements representing the Parisian bohème in cafés frequented by artists, who were against society. On the bottle of wine we can clearly see the word “VI” that stands for the Cubists experiments in 1910.

What else in life than tasting a good glass of Uvamatris wine with a touch of art?
